Water Access
McIntosh County is an important launch area for anglers heading into Georgia's larger coastal river and creek systems.
Darien River: Downtown Darien access.
Champney River: Major public launch south of Darien.
North River: Blue-N-Hall access.
Sapelo River: Bellville access.
White Chimney Creek: Shellman Bluff area.
Barbour River: Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
Harris Neck Creek: Refuge boating access.
Several of these waterways are strongly affected by Georgia's large tidal range. Georgia DNR specifically warns that erosion can create drop-offs at the end of coastal ramps, particularly around low tide. Coastal DNR
