Getting There

The Richmond Hill WMA has access points from GA Highway 144, Oak Level Road and Kilkenny Road. DNR lists the WMA at 597 Kilkenny Road, Richmond Hill, and the property covers portions of both Bryan and McIntosh counties. Georgia Wildlife

The Egypt Island ramp itself is located inside the WMA, so expect a more remote setting than the developed ramps at Fort McAllister or Demeries Creek.

Water Access

The Egypt Island launch provides access to the Jerico River and the surrounding coastal marsh system. It is particularly relevant for smaller boats, canoes and kayaks looking for access away from the larger developed ramps.

An older Georgia coastal access guide describes the ramp as paved and notes that the facility has no additional facilities. Because that information is dated, we are not listing amenities that DNR does not currently confirm. NOAA Institutional Repository

Important WMA Access Note

This is a Wildlife Management Area, not a conventional county boat park. The property is managed by Georgia DNR and provides boating, canoeing and river fishing in addition to hunting and wildlife activities. Georgia Wildlife

Before making the trip, check current WMA information and seasonal restrictions, particularly during hunting seasons.
